Sunday Market

A slow Sunday for making things and meeting people.

Sunday Market is a small creative gathering hosted weekly at The Craft Place. It’s part workshop, part shared meal, part community table. It’s a time for 6 strangers to sit around a table, carve stamps together, share snacks, pass artwork back and forth, and leave feeling more connected than when you arrived.

Together, everyone carves their own rubber stamp. Your design can be anything you want: a tiny drawing, a symbol, a phrase, something meaningful, something silly. The craft itself is simple enough to settle into conversation, but personal enough to feel like you’re sharing a piece of yourself.

And that’s the heart of Sunday Market: sharing.

Once everyone finishes carving, we pass our stamps around the table and create artwork together using each other’s designs. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll leave not only with your own handmade stamp, but also a collaborative piece of art shaped by the people you spent the day beside.

There’s something special about slowing down long enough to make things with other people.

To make the afternoon feel even more communal, we’ll also share small snacks sourced from local vendors at the Lafayette Farmers Market just outside our doors — a little way to celebrate and support our local community while we create together.

The Details

Sunday 10:30 - 12:30

Your ticket includes:

• All materials needed to carve one 4x3 rubber stamp
• Carving tools and instruction
• Regular paper + two sheets of watercolor paper
• Use of communal ink during the session
• Shared snacks featuring local Lafayette Farmers Market vendors

Important Notes

• You don’t need to stay for the entire session, but please arrive on time so everyone can begin together.
• We’ll start with introductions, an overview of stamp carving, and time to settle into the process as a group.
• Part of the experience is sharing your stamp with others during the collaborative art portion at the end.
• You’re welcome to bring an item from home to stamp on.
• Additional surfaces and materials — like tote bags and other craft blanks — will also be available for purchase during the session.
• If you’d like to take home your own unused ink pad, they’ll be available for purchase for $8–10.
• While Sunday Market is designed around meeting new people, you’re absolutely welcome to sign up with a friend. We simply ask that everyone help keep the table communal and conversational so the experience feels shared by the whole group.
• Crafters must be 21+

Pricing

$35 per person

📌 Advance registration required - Sunday Market is intentionally small — just six seats around one shared table. Your ticket reserves your place in the experience, allows us to prepare food and materials ahead of time, and helps ensure the group can count on one another showing up. Because of the limited seating and nature of the event, tickets are non-refundable.

🍷 Wine and beer will be available for purchase, so you can sip while you create.
